What it does
Automatically generates professional B2B quotes from BigCommerce cart contents, applying volume discounts and custom pricing, then routes to sales manager for approval before sending to prospect.
Why I recommend it
Manual B2B quoting is slow and error-prone. Automation ensures fast, accurate quotes with proper approvals, dramatically shortening B2B sales cycles while maintaining pricing control.
Expected benefits
- 80% faster quote generation
- Zero pricing errors
- Proper approval workflow
- Professional, branded quotes
How it works
Prospect adds items to BigCommerce cart -> clicks “Request Quote” -> system generates quote document with line items, volume discounts, terms -> applies customer-specific pricing rules -> routes to sales manager for approval via email/Slack -> approved quote sent to prospect as PDF.
Quick start
Manually create B2B quotes when requested. Note what information you need (items, quantities, discounts, terms). Create quote template in Google Docs or PDF generator. Then automate data population from cart and approval routing.
Level-up version
Multi-tier approval based on deal size or discount depth. Include product images and detailed specs. Generate multiple quote versions (tiered pricing). Track quote status and follow-up reminders. Auto-convert approved quotes to orders.
Tools you can use
E-commerce: BigCommerce
Quote generation: PandaDoc, Proposify, QuoteWerks
PDF: DocRaptor, PDFMonkey for document generation
Approvals: Slack, email, custom forms
Automation: Zapier, Make, n8n
Also works with
Platforms: Shopify Plus B2B, WooCommerce B2B
CRM: GoHighLevel, Salesforce for quote tracking
CPQ: Salesforce CPQ, DealHub for complex pricing
Technical implementation solution
- No-code: BigCommerce cart webhook -> Zapier fetches cart data -> generates quote in Google Docs from template -> sends to manager for approval via email -> manually send approved quote.
- API-based: Custom “Request Quote” button -> BigCommerce API fetch cart -> apply pricing rules and discounts -> generate PDF quote via API -> send approval request via Slack -> approved quote emailed to prospect -> create quote record in CRM.
Where it gets tricky
Managing customer-specific pricing rules and volume discounts, handling quote versioning and revisions, ensuring quote accuracy matches available inventory, and tracking quote-to-order conversion.
